Double Play
The West Virginia Lottery Commission was created in 1985 to advise and assist the Director of the Lottery to pursue smooth operation of the West Virginia Lottery throughout the state. The members of the commission are appointed by the Governor with the approval of the senate. According to state laws, the Lottery Commission must comprise seven members including a lawyer, a computer expert, a certified public accountant, a marketing specialist, and one member with not less than five years of experience in law enforcement. The other two members represent the “public at large”, in the Lottery Commission. Not more than four members of the same political party can be the members of the Commission.
