UK Lottery Winner Help A Bride After Several Call-offs Due To COVID-19

A bride and groom hailing from Truro got their wedding canceled four separate times due to the Coronavirus pandemic outbreak, finally had the best day of her life when a bounteous lotto jackpot winner who bagged approximately £13 million (US$17,150,965) in 2015 decided to contribute in her special day by taking her to the wedding ceremony in a top-class Bentley.

Erika Witheridge-Towers was one of those many disappointed brides of England whose wedding plans were shattered by the spread of COVID-19. Frustrated with all the delays, Erika decided to move forward with her wedding plans and get married in just four days!

Originally the couple was supposed to get married back in May 2020, but the date had to be kept pushing due to unforeseen circumstances. So when Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that the number of guests allowed at a wedding would be cut from 30 to 15 starting on September 28. Eventually, Erika booked the 27th of September as her wedding day.

While she and her fiance decided to tie the knot, they had to part ways with some eye-grabbing components which were all subjected to cancellations on her dream wedding. One of those included rolling up to the Church in a highly expensive car. But due to the ongoing circumstances, she had to rely on her dad’s old Audi for transport.

A close family friend heard about the bride’s wish and managed to get in touch with Peter Congdon, 73, who won the lottery jackpot in May 2015. The winner who owns a fleet of three Range Rovers, two Bentley’s, and two Bentley’s also had a reputation of generosity. Moved by the bride’s circumstances Congdon was more than happy to lend a helping hand in ensuring their big day was worth remembering.

And to the bride’s utter surprise, a red limited-edition Bentley Continental Convertible was waiting outside for her on the wedding day, which was chauffeured by none other than Congdon himself. He said that hopefully, it’s a day that the bride will cherish for the rest of her life. This year has been quite difficult for many and he’s glad that he could help someone in such times and celebrate with them.
