A number of North Carolina Lottery players are celebrating a huge win after selecting their lucky number 9 for Monday’s Pick 4 Night draw. To their utter surprise, the game drew 9999 as the winning numbers.

The total winning tickets were 2,574, out of which 1,303 were purchased for $1 and will receive the top prize of $5,000 each, while 1,095 were bought for $0.50 and will receive $2,500. There were around 176 lottery players who won smaller non-jackpot prizes.

Totaling up the amount of the prizes won for the draw, the lottery summed up the prizes to $9.2 million - the largest ever won in a single Pick 4 drawing by the North Carolina Lottery. The draw beats the previous set record of $7.8 million, paid out in prizes for the numbers 0-0-0-0, drawn on June 22, 2019.

Playing combinations of numbers in Pick 4 is quite a popular technique by lottery players to bag lottery prizes. As per NC Lottery, the odds of matching all the four numbers in Pick 4 is 1 in 10,000.

The claim centers are flooded by winners all across the state to claim their winnings following social distancing guidelines and safety precautions.
