The Iowa Lottery Begins Its Own Pick 3 And Pick 4 drawings

After sharing drawings and results with the neighboring Hoosier Lottery since 2017, Iowa Lottery players now have access to their own state-specific Pick 3 and Pick 4 games.

Following this procedural update, the Pick 3 and Pick 4 draw games in Iowa will now have drawings and winning numbers, exclusive to the state of Iowa only. Since the inception of these games in 1998, and 2003, the drawings have undergone many changes. Since 2017, the Iowa lottery had made an arrangement with the Hoosier Lottery to share its Pick 3 and Pick 4 results. Before this arrangement, the Lottery conducted its own in-state computerized drawings. And prior to 2014, it was Illinois Lottery's Pick 3 and Pick 4 draw results that were used for the games.

According to the Iowa Lottery, the latest changes done, are majorly motivated by the players who were requesting a drawing specific to their state.

The lottery began conducting the official drawings of its own Pick 3 and Pick 4 games on Saturday, October 1, starting with the Midday drawings. In an official statement released by the lottery, the spokesperson said, "We think the change will help differentiate our games and their features from those in other states," It also said that with dozens of other lotteries in the nation offering Pick 3 and Pick 4 games with their own distinct features, there is a possibility for the Iowa Lottery to establish its own unique add-on options for the games.

As per the information, the draw times and sale cut-off times will remain the same for both games. The Midday drawings will continue to take place every day at 12:20 pm CT, and Evening drawings every day at 10:00 pm CT. The drawings will be conducted in-state with "random-number generating equipment".

The players can purchase the tickets until noon on the day of the drawing for midday drawings and until 9:40 pm CT on the day of the drawing for evening drawings. The odds of matching all three numbers Straight in Iowa Pick 3 are 1 in 1,000, whereas the odds of matching all four numbers Straight in Iowa Pick 4 are 1 in 10,000. You can wager from 20 cents to $5 per play, and get a chance to win up to $3,000 and $30,000 respectively. For more info on how to play these games and match the winning numbers, simply check the game detail page of the Iowa Lottery, and increase your chances of winning.
