This could be a great week for lottery players all across the US. With the Powerball lottery jackpot surging to $620 million, the players could be busy visiting every store to pick their lottery ticket and walk home winning the 10th largest jackpot in US history.
This is the 39th consecutive rollover that has resulted in such an astonishing amount, since June 5. Moreover, this is the longest stretch without a jackpot winner in the history of the game.
After no Powerball jackpot winner was announced on Wednesday night's draw, the roll-over jackpot for Saturday's drawing was estimated at $620 million, with a lump-sum cash option of $446 million. By far this is the 10th largest lottery jackpot in US history and the 8th largest cash option ever offered.
Lottery players should keep in mind that the jackpot amounts are conservative estimates provided by the lotteries, and are often somewhat higher by the time the drawing occurs.
The Powerball winning numbers for Wednesday, September 29, 2021, were 2, 7, 11, 17, and 32, with Powerball number 11, with Power Play number 3. The Double Play drawing numbers for Wednesday were 3, 19, 29, 50, and 58, with Powerball number 3.
The next Powerball draw will take place this Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. ET.
