On April 1, New Jersey Lottery made the headlines by announcing that it will be making a number of changes to its Pick 6 draw game this month.
On Thursday, the NJ lottery issued a press release in which it clearly stated that its original big game is getting a makeover with changes that will surely create a buzz amongst players all across the state.
One of the few improvements the game is going to make in Pick 6 is that it will be reducing the number field from 1 to 49 to 1 to 46, which in turn will improve the overall odds of winning from 1 in 13,983,816 to 1 in 9,366,819.
The revamped version of the game will include a multiplier option on every ticket that could increase the non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times. The current game's multiplier is known as the Xtra and is only available on additional purchase, costing an extra $1 per play.
But there's a little bad news as well!
The price of the New Jersey Pick 6 game will increase from $1 to $2, per play. Not just this, for the good part the lottery players will now have the option to select the Double Play option to enter into an additional drawing held immediately after the regular Pick 6 drawing. The add-on option uses the same numbers and multiplier digit from the original ticket. The Double Play feature will give the players a chance to win a $250,000 top prize and other prizes of a little lesser amount.
The starting jackpot for Pick 6 will remain at $2 million, and the drawing schedule will not undergo any change. The drawings will be scheduled as per the usual, i.e. Mondays and Thursdays at 10:57 pm Eastern Time.
The first draw for the revamped Pick 6 with Double Play will take place on Thursday, April 7, with sales for the tickets starting from Tuesday, April 7. For more information on how to play the various game offered by New Jersey Lottery, simply click here!
