After 29 consecutive rollovers without a jackpot winner, the 30th draw of the multi-state Mega Millions lottery in the USA, produced a single $1.337 billion winner on Friday night, with one lottery ticket sold in Illinois that matched all the five numbers plus the Mega Ball. 

It is the fourth time that a lottery jackpot had grown to more than $1 billion, and the third time a single ticket won $1 billion or above. 

The winner of this great grand prize will have to choose between being paid $1.337 billion in 30 annually-increasing payments over 29 years or the lump-sum cash value of $780.5 million.

As per The Lottery Lab's tax calculator, after all, tax deductions, the winner will either get $777.2 million by the end of 29 years or $453.1 million in cash all at once, approximately.

As per the sources, the winning lottery ticket was sold at Speedway #4250, located at 885 E. Touhy Ave. in Des Plaines. Also, the lottery retailer will receive a commission of about $500,000 for selling the winning ticket. 

Ohio Lottery Director, Pat McDonald, congratulated the Illinois Lottery for selling a $1.337 billion Mega Millions winning ticket. Also, the Lead Director for the Mega Millions Consortium said, "We are thrilled to have witnessed one of the biggest jackpots wins in Mega Millions history. We're eager to find out who won and look forward to congratulating the winner soon! Better still, this exciting jackpot run has had a significant positive impact on the revenues for good causes raised by our member lotteries."

Illinois was one of the founding members of Mega Millions, which was called The Big Game, back then.

The Mega Millions winning numbers for Friday, July 29, 2022, were, 13, 36, 45, 57, and 67, with Mega Ball number 14 and Megaplier was 2. The winner who has managed to match all these numbers has the right to remain anonymous as per the Illinois Lottery's anonymity policy for winners. 

In addition to the jackpot win, around 26 lucky players managed to match 5 numbers for a $1,000,000 prize, which includes, 1 from Arkansas (with the Megaplier), 1 from California, 5 from Florida (3 with the Megaplier), 2 from Georgia, 1 from Iowa (with the Megaplier), 1 from Illinois, 1 from Kentucky, 1 from Louisiana, 1 from Michigan, 2 from Minnesota, 2 from North Carolina, 1 from New Hampshire, 1 from New York, 1 from Oklahoma, 2 from Pennsylvania (1 with the Megaplier), 2 from Texas, and 1 from Wisconsin. Apart from these, there were thousands of winners for the other prize tiers!!
