Tonight’s Mega Millions Jackpot has raised from $510 million to $520 million as per the lottery officials, making this week’s Powerball and Mega Millions Jackpot a combined win of little less than $1 billion. Since September 18, the Mega Millions jackpot has rolled 32 times starting at $20 million.
The grand Mega Millions jackpot offers two payout options: the $520 million annuity prize will be paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual installments, or the cash option or also known as the lump-sum payout option wherein you will receive $383.4 million.
As of today the lump-sum cash value now stands as the 8th-largest in U.S. history and the 3rd-largest in the game's history. The surging jackpot for Mega Millions is almost identical to the Powerball jackpot that stands at $470 million. At $990 million this is the highest combined jackpot of Mega Millions and Powerball since October 2018.
Mega Millions cost $2 for each play. And for an additional $1 per ticket, you can purchase the Megaplier option which multiplies your non-jackpot winnings by up to 5 times, depending on the Megaplier number drawn. The only state that does not offer the Megaplier option is just California.
As a potential lottery winner, are you wondering, how to pick those winning numbers? You need not worry. Before marking those ultimate numbers, strategize them well, based on a statistical analysis of past lottery data, lottery tools that help you know which are the current hot and cold numbers, and much more, so that you have a fair chance to bag the prize.
