A resident of Dorchester won $100,000 after receiving a free promotional lottery ticket for the Massachusetts Lottery's Mass Cash Draw Game.

For the lucky winner, Stevie Allen, winning $100,000 must have felt even luckier after considering that he won a ticket that was awarded to him for free! On Monday he visited the Norwood Shell gas station on Walpole Street in Norwood and purchased a $5 lottery ticket for The Numbers Game, which draws twice daily and offers a $5,640 top prize for matching four numbers in exact order.

Him being lucky, the Massachusetts Lottery had just started a promotion that gives its players a free $1 ticket for the next Mass Cash drawing after spending $5 or more on a single ticket for The Numbers Game.

And fortunately, his timing was Bang On, and that same night, his free Quick Pick ticket matched all the numbers, 5, 17, 20, 26, and 33, in the Monday, October 4 Mass Cash drawing. The winner visited the Lottery Headquarters in Dorchester the very next day to take home his $100,000 winnings before tax deductions. The Norwood Shell retailer received a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery after selling The Numbers Game ticket that produced the free winning promotional ticket.

The Massachusetts Lottery's promotion began on Monday, October 4, and will run through Sunday, October 17.
