The Florida Lottery winner whose winning ticket was supposedly lost by the USPS mail, over a month ago, is finally awarded! Sue Burgess, 62, who won the Second Chance drawing back in July sent her winning ticket through USPS certified mail to the Lottery. After sending in the winning ticket through mail, she didn't hear from the Lottery for weeks, which led her to track the status of her mail. On checking, she got to know that her ticket never reached the Lottery headquarters and was completely devastated to hear, "no ticket, no prize", suggesting that they are not responsible for any carelessness made by the U.S Postal Service.
Her "lost winning ticket" story grabbed national attention, which actually led the Florida Lottery to take action. But to her surprise, Florida Lottery called up Burgess on Wednesday to inform her that they found her lost lottery ticket in their mail deliveries despite USPS tracking information showing that it was never delivered. The Florida Lottery winner would finally receive her $1,000 prize.
And what next, Burgess received a FedEx package containing her winning check along with a few gifts to make it up to her by the Lottery, including an official Lottery pen and tote.
The winner was much relieved and thrilled to experience the happy ending! The winner was extremely happy and exclaimed, she is soon going for tire shopping as her car needs them badly!
Well, we advise everyone to keep tracking their lottery winning claims sent through the mail, so that you do not lose them!
