Ronald 'Ron' Cumiskey, 60, nearly forgot to check his Lotto ticket - 6/49, right before bed. But an insignificant decision of checking his numbers just at the last minute, kept him up all night, as he learned he had bagged a whopping jackpot amount worth 24,369,459 (US$18 million).
After 30 years of ardent lottery playing, Cumumiskey kept on checking the results and the date of the drawing multiple times until the whole winning situation sank in and he actually believed that he had won an enormous prize. The winner broke this news first to his roommate and girlfriend and then to his long time boss.
Cumiskey at the age of his retirement, wishes to utilise his winnings to visit the East Coast of Canada and Pearl Harbour, to help his loved ones and the people who have supported him all his life. The winner wishes to purchase a lakefront home, a brand new car, help his family financially and wishes to play a few rounds of golf.
The winning numbers for Lotto, 6/49, drawn for the date of May 27, 2020 were 7, 17, 18, 22, 28, and 34, with Bonus number 1. The retiring British Columbian man beat the 1 in 13,983,816 odds to become the sole winner of the $24 million lottery prize by matching the main six draw numbers, which he chose randomly.
