An anonymous group has stepped forward to claim the record-making $731.1 million Powerball jackpot drawn on January 20, 2021, which has turned out as the sixth largest jackpot in the U.S. history of lotteries and the longest roll in the Powerball history with 36 consecutive drawings.

The group of anonymous lottery winners dubbed as the "The Power Pack" came forward to claim the largest jackpot of the Maryland Lottery.

As people expected, the group chose the one-time lump-sum cash option to claim the prize, totaling up to a whopping amount of $546.8 million, or around $366.6 million after the deduction of federal and state taxes.

The winning ticket for the January 20, Powerball drawing was purchased by one member of The Power Pack at the Coney Market grocery store on Lower Georges Creek Road in Lonaconing, a small town in Northwest Maryland bordering Pennsylvania. Earlier to this win, the lottery store received a $100,000 bonus for selling the Quick Pick, the only ticket the winning group purchased for that drawing.

The Power Pack member who purchased the winning ticket had the chance to discover that they had won hundreds of millions of dollars and checked the terminal, again and again, to be sure of. Still, in disbelief, he repeatedly told the group, "this couldn't be true!".

But rightly assured, the numbers on the ticket matched the ones on the screen. As the group came forward to claim their prize from the Maryland Lottery. They informed the officials they don't have any plans to leave their jobs or change their lifestyles. According to lottery officials, they are looking forward to investing the money to care for their families and make a positive impact on their community for generations to come.

This Powerball jackpot has eclipsed the previous records of Maryland Lottery history, a $218.6 million share of a $656 million Mega Millions jackpot anonymously claimed by The Three Amigos, in the March 30, drawing.

The winning numbers for the $73.1 million jackpot drawn on January 20, 2021, were 40, 53, 60, 68, and 69, with Powerball number 22, and the Power Play multiplier was 3. The odds of hitting the jackpot are 1 in about 292 million. So have you been lucky with any of those winning numbers?
