COVID-19 has impacted lives all around the world and has not spared even the lottery industry!

Each day, Americans walk into stores and splurge money to play the lotteries. Players to date prefer to try their luck on scratch games or mega-jackpot lotteries like Mega Millions, Powerball, and Lucky For Life.

The U.S lotteries generate more than $70 billion a year, but ticket sales have drooped in some states as compared to the conditions right before the Coronavirus pandemic.

A lottery is actually a discretionary purchase and people are not earning as much discretionary income right now, which is costing a big chunk to the lottery industry.

Though the graph below depicts the fluctuation in the interest of people in playing lotteries, the lottery market is forecasting a boom in sales after the pandemic settles.
