Double Play
The DC Lottery was founded in 1982 and is an agency of District of Columbia Government which regulates the sale of gaming products and charitable gaming activities in the District of Columbia. The mission of the agency is to generate revenue for the District through the operation and regulation of the DC Lottery. The agency encourages players to play lottery games responsibly using discretionary dollars to purchase lottery tickets. It is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing information services concerning the DC Lottery’s goals, mission, benefits, and operations. The licensing of the charitable gaming activities of the DC Lottery has helped local non-profits raise more than $130 million to support social causes of the District of Columbia.
