Blog Post

Discovering the Numbers in Euromillions Lottery

The Euromillions Lottery has intrigued millions of lottery enthusiasts across the globe with its impressive jackpots and exciting gameplay. But one question that always seems to pop up is - "How many numbers are there in the Euromillions Lottery?" In this blog, we uncover everything you need to know about the number of balls in the two drawing drums and how many numbers you need to match to win!

Understanding the Euromillions Lottery

Launched in 2004, the Euromillions is a transnational lottery game that currently involves nine European countries. The game involves two different sets of numbers; The main numbers and the Lucky Star numbers. The draw takes place twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays, offering players plenty of chances to win.

Breaking Down the Numbers: The Main Numbers and the Lucky Star numbers

The Euromillions uses two separate drums to draw the numbers. The first drum contains the main numbers, while the second holds the Lucky Star numbers.

Main Numbers: There are 50 main numbers in the Euromillions lottery. During the draw, five of these numbers are randomly selected from the first drum. To play the game, you must choose your five main numbers from this pool.

Lucky Star Numbers: In the second drum, you will find the Lucky Star numbers. There are 12 Lucky Star numbers, of which two are drawn during each draw. Players need to choose their two Lucky Star numbers from this pool. Note that it is entirely possible for the Lucky Star numbers to be the same as the main numbers previously drawn.

Matching the Numbers to Win

Now, you may be wondering how many numbers you need to match to win. Here's the great news: even if you match only two main numbers, you'll win a prize!

To hit the jackpot, you need to match all five main numbers and both Lucky Star numbers. The odds of winning the jackpot are one in 139,838,160, but keep in mind that there are 13 prize tiers in total. This means there are plenty of opportunities to win smaller prizes just by matching fewer numbers.

With its impressive prize pool and exciting gameplay, the Euromillions lottery has continued to attract a vast number of players. As always, responsible gaming is key. Good luck with your future draws!
